The Seven Wonders of the Modern World.   The Seven Wonders of the Modern World are unique, absolutely incredible and magnificent buildings, which their significance, level of engineering involved, or even historical and social context make them so special and irreplaceable. Due to this, The Seven Wonders of the Modern World represent the peak of different cultures throughout the modern human history. In this blog, I will be ranking them, in my opinion, from worst to best. I will also explain each one of them deeply and make a statement about how, exactly, they are so important and should be preserved by following the format of Opinion , History ,  About the Wonder , and Importance and Significance . Seventh Position – Machu Picchu . The Machu Picchu is an Inca citadel built in the 15 th century, located in the Eastern Cordillera of southern Peru, on a 2,430-metre (7,970 ft.) mountain ridge. Talking from a point of view far from the historical, I think the Machu Picchu ...

The Seven Wonders of the Modern World. Sixth Position – Chichen Itza . The Chichen Itza was a vast pre-Columbian city built by Maya people of the Terminal Classic period, located in Tinúm Municipality, Yucatán State, Mexico. I sincerely think that this wonder is completely awesome. The structures placed in this site have such interesting shapes and designs, considering the year it was founded, this site for me is incredibly wonderful and fascinating. Furthermore, there still are secrets that surround this site and its edifications, which calls me the attention even more.   About the Wonder: The Chichen Itza is the second most popular site for visitors to Mexico and it is considered to be one of the Seven Wonders of the New World. The Castillo is probably the most famous image of Chichen Itza . Castillo means “castle” in Spanish. The Castillo is a monument in the shape of a pyramid. There are four staircases on the outside of the pyramid. https://chrome.google.com/webst...

The Seven Wonders of the Modern World. Fifth Position - Christ the Redeemer . Christ the Redeemer is a monumental Art Deco statue in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil; and it was constructed between 1922 and 1931. In my opinion, this is the greatest statue of Jesus ever made. The perfection is such that every detail seems to be profoundly calculated, as the symmetry of the head and arms of the statue that somehow are similar to the shape of the Sugarloaf Mountain (Pão de Açúcar), even though it can just be a matter of mere coincidence, it still is wonderfully pleasing. Moreover, the fine design and the view from which you can admire this Wonder surely makes it the world’s most interesting and beautiful statue ever made. About the Wonder: The statue is located at the peak of the 700-meter (2,300 ft.) Corcovado Mountain in the Tijuca Forest National Park. It weighs 635 metric tons (625 long, 700 short tons). https://www.pinterest.com/pin/385409680610498036/ History: In the mid-1850s, the idea of p...

The Seven Wonders of the Modern World. Fourth Position – Great Wall of China . This Wonder, in my opinion, belongs in the fourth position because, even though it might have the most interesting, incredible history and past of all the Wonders, this Wonder is more characterized by its construction continuity through millenniums rather than for its structure per se. Because, even though the length is completely unbelievable, the building remains the same along all its longitude. Furthermore, though I not consider myself to possess technical knowledge related to architecture, for me, the architecture of this Wonder in particular is not impressive, since it is a wall. That is the reason I think the Great Wall of China , though great indeed, deserves the fourth position. About the Wonder: http://www.hdfondos.eu/preview/get_photo/196028/1400/1050 History: Known as the “Square Wall” and built by the state of Chu around 7th century BC, this fortification was situated in the northern part of th...

The Seven Wonders of the Modern World.   Second Position – Petra . Petra owns the second position because of its architecture. The architecture of the whole city and of the Treasury simple seems to me to be completely out of this world. It is absolutely mesmerizing every detail of this city, the form of the rocks and of many other edifications of the site, such as the Petra Theater . In addition to all of this, the rose-colored rocks suits just too well with the general architecture of the place. These are my reasons why I believe Petra belongs in the second position. Truly a masterpiece considering the time it was built, so much so that it still continues amazing people even to these days. About the Wonder: https://c4.wallpaperflare.com/wallpaper/281/210/545/petra-in-jordan-wallpaper-preview.jpg   History: The Petra is ancient city entre of an Arab kingdom in Hellenistic and Roman times. Edomites, an ancient kingdom which most of its former territory is now divi...
